Second Week
Hello im back!
Right well the past two weeks have been fab!!
The first week was alot of admin type stuff and introductions to the first module. Thursday last week was really good had an introduction to Basic Life Support and we had a lecture about what is expected of us when we are nurses.The tutors have been lovely. I had friday off last week which was good as I managed to get my head round everything! its a lot to take in.The journey to the University is about an hour which isnt too bad and I have met some lovely people.
Well I was in uni for three days this week on Monday we had were given our first assignment which is due in May, we have to write 1000 words on the code of counduct and relate it someones experience in a hopsital etc I havent written an essay in so long I'm hoping I will get on ok.We are having alot of support though we had a lecture on Monday about how we do it and what we do if we need help so theres plenty of help if we need it.Then we had introduction to biosciences lecture which was basically about Atoms. On tuesday we had a lecture on the personal and professional values of Nursing so basically how nursing started, the image of nurses how your personal values and beliefs are questioned when you are a nurse stuff like that it was really good.Then yesterday had a further lecture on cells and tissues! At the moment its a case of trying to understand the general concept and then filing all the handouts and stuff away until we need it again!!! Next week I have Bed making and moving and handling and a practical session on Basic Life Support! Sorry if I just rambled I have been struck down with a cold so my mind is a bit mushy lol Anyway I will post on Monday and let you know how my first practical session goes!!!
