Re: Futher training? well thanks to alot of help from Lulu, looks like I am gonna be doing a module in asthma care at Napier Uni, the module leader has sent me the module guide and it looks fab!
I should get the application form and will be sending that off in a few days!
Re: Futher training woohoo so will the ward let u take a study day? how many hours will you be doing at work? my last mentor did 30 hrs a week when she was doing her degree and had every weds as a study
Re: Futher training? Well lou, I havnt mentioned it to my ward sister yet as she is on holiday. Hopefully I can get every monday off for the next 6 weeks...only prob being is that I need to have every wed evening off for the next 10 weeks to do my childline training aswell Lol.
Re: Futher training? I didnt do the module in the end. It was a stressful time with me moving house and money being abit tight. Im hoping to do something after the new year.
The module i was gonna do was £145 so not too bad.
Re: Futher training? they are now £148 at napier... just went up in sept... its one of the cheaper unis to do modules.
did you choose the degree or diploma option Scotnurse? if you are gonna top up you have to do reflecting on practice which is a double module and double the price and 2 other modules of you choice if you go to public folders and click on the bsc menu somewhere in there you will find the bsc options.
Re: Futher training? I'm still in first year so we've not been asked what we want to do yet, but I plan to do the degree. Don't think I have an option anyway, because I've got a politics degree all the lecturers assume I'll be doing the degree!
I hope to do honours at some point cos I want to get into lecturing evenutually as well. Just have no idea what my options are for when/where/how much it'll cost, but I guess I've got plenty of time to find that out.
