working in Glasgow

i have now been working in my new post for over 3 months.

the commuting does take around 2 hours each direction with public transport.... but its quite nice to have an hour of me time on the bus emoticon and i also have a half hour walk which is good as i had been getting a bit lazy in my last job as was mostly driving emoticon or sitting around.

i work in the city centre in glasgow 3 days a week... 2 days are clinic days and 1 day is admin and training emoticon .

i work one day at a clinic in paisley and one day at a clinic in post glasgow.

im just about to embark on a new adventure of giving talks to teenage girls in a secure unit on the topic of sexual and reproductive health and relationships.... a tad nervous about this emoticon so wish me luck.... its only going to be for a few weeks until they train up their own nurse to do it.

im hoping to do the SHARE training at some point myself.

they are very into reflection and clinical governance here which cant be a bad thing even if a little frustrating at times as im prevented from doing things i had previously done in edinburgh emoticon . until i have completed all the assignments im not allowed to do PGDs or remove coils even though i have been doing them for ages.... but should be getting them signed off next week emoticon

i should also get my implanon course finished on monday too so i an insert and remove contraceptive implants emoticon .

im loving my new job and im going on the STIFF (sti ourse) in march and hope to be doing my GUM module and want to do my non-medial prescribing too.
