my alcohol thread

well i have decided as from tonight i am cutting right down on the bottle! Not that im an alcy or anything but I had a blood test back in april and i had an abnormal liver function. I would hate to fail my medical for a staff nurse post because of this reason so i am determined to cut down on the alcohol. I find this very hard harder than losing weight so i would appreciate support !!!! I will track my progress here. emoticon

Re: my alcohol thread

Good luck with this loopylou, i know exactly where your coming from, im not a alcy either (mind you saying this makes us look like we are in denial emoticon )

I choose to give up totally for a while that was back at the beginning of March and i have only had 2 glasses of wine since, its hard at times but its for my health.

The benefits have been better sleep patterns, less mood swings and saving money!!!

Good luck with it keep us updated emoticon

Re: my alcohol thread

good luck, I dont drink much normally and hadn't drunk for a while then went to the pub yesterday and had a double vodka and it went straight to my head! Moral of the story, if you havent drunk for a while, DON'T have a double!

Re: my alcohol thread

Lou - just for your piece of mind - Ive already been given my OH screening form because of my secondment, and it is just a set of questions and there is no indication that they will perform blood testing.

I dont think you drink that much and Im sure its just you worrying - which is ok !

I cant see this holding you back in any way or form. If you had a true problem with alcohol then you wouldnt have been able to hold it together throughout your (our!) training and whilst out in practice.
