Re: My Job Applications thread.

i went to the private ward first it was really nice and the staff/sister seemed lovely. it looks like quite a cushy ward, very quiet! There's only 1 vacancy though, which probably means i won't get it since the last 2 interviews i had said if there had have been another vacancy then i would've got it! So i don't think i'll end up on the private ward. Recovery looked very good, the shifts were so so a lot of different shifts and its mon-fri. prefer me 3 long days to be honest but it hasn't put me off. The sister though she was a bit funny seemed a bit posh and didnt smile much. Still hasn't put me off though lol. If I've been shortlisted it should be at least 2 weeks before i hear anything from any of them.

Re: My Job Applications thread.

Just wanted to wish you luck! Must be very frustrating especially to hear that you were that close to getting the other jobs. Just try to take it as a really positive thing that they thought you were that good must have been lots of people they didn't. Anyway I will keep my fingers and toes crossed for you!!

Update- well i have been successful in getting a job on a diabetes ward but i still have 3 cardiothoracic/cardiology jobs to hear from yet and i would prefer those. if one of these offers me a job im going to take it. at least i have one for back up.

Re: My Job Applications thread.

Im a bit down today. rang personnel a few times this week to see if i've been shortlisted for some jobs i applied for and the one im most wanting didnt shortlist me. it was a cardiology ward. but i havent been shortlisted for the cardiothoracic ward, recovery unit or private ward either. I know this sounds ungrateful as i already have a job but those were ones i would much prefer. I think theres just been so many applicants that they've maybe had to really nit pick at the applications. I am still waiting to hear from another cardio ward, an upper GI ward and i have applied for intensive care this week. I spent a few hours working in intensive care this afternoon and i enjoyed it and the shifts they do are really good- 07.30am-7.30pm and its self rostering. would love it i know i would. But theres so many people who apply for intensive care that i've more or less convinced myself that i won't be shortlisted. this sounds really selfish but i cant help it- applied for so many jobs that i really would like and ive got one definite job somewhere i dont really want. emoticon
