Re: elective placement starts tomorrow! hello nikki, good thanks, im on the scrub side now after four weeks doing anaesthetics and recovery which i actually enjoyed more than i thought i would do. only three more full weeks to go after this and then it will almost be christmas i spoke to the matron after some of the staff nurses said that i should mention to her that im interested in working in theatres and in particular womens health, unfortunatly there are no vacancies at present but she told me to ring HR after xmas and get a speculative application form when we start applying and specify that i want to work in theatres/womens health and that will be sent to her by them, ive also got to ring her to tell her its on its way as she said things can change between now and march, i have heard on the grape vine that a nurse has applied to move to the main theatres so that may be availible in the future. the only thing thats getting me down is this other student nurse who is in my group ( who is a pushy a** licker) has declared after one day there (yesterday) that she wants to work there! you can bet your bottom dollar that she pushes me out of the way but im not going without a fight! i got in there first and i am passionate about womens health! so im feeling down about that, i heard her ask the matron about jobs/internship etc at break time and she too said contact HR but im not sure whether she took her name and numbers down like she has for me so thats tomorrows digging for me sorry to go on nikki but im premenstrual and feeling sorry for myself bye suzie x
