ups and downs I can't believe how much I keep going from loving every minute of the course to really doubting my abilities, commitment and desire to be a nurse, and back again!
Well, from feeling quite low at the begining of the week because I couldn't think of a question I wanted to use for or research assignment and completely failing to find any research, I now feel really positive again. I've thought of a question and have managed to find research on it! I've also done the first draft of a formative essay for our health promotion module. It's really ropey at the moment, but I still have plenty of time to go over it again.
I seem to go through the up down cycle at least once a week!
Re: ups and downs glad your feeling a bit up at the moment... and not so down... but nursing and studentyness is a bit of an emotional rollercoaster... meeting new poeple and doing new assingmnets and learning new skills every few weeks.... not many jobs offer such variety however it does come with the down side of not knowing whether your coming or going.
Dont be too hard on yourself though you have only been at it a few weeks, once you are more used to it you will be fine
Re: ups and downs If it's any consolation i feel like this most of the time. i have to say though that i find the majority of our Hudd tutors are really good and extra helpful. Only really one i don't like (no names) and thats because when i asked him to read through an EBK essay (which he'd offered to do in the lecture i might add!!!) he siad 'well you could get someone else to read it for you' WELL! to him and the horse he rode in on!!!

I can only please one person per day. Today isnt your day! Tomorrow isnt looking good either!
Re: ups and downs Yeah, there's not been any so far that i haven't liked (some more than others). Why offer to look through it, then tell you to get someone else to? I agree with you to him!
Re: ups and downs hi sam,
phew i am not alone, what you are explaining is the exact same as i feel! i start one week thinking 'yes i can do this', then the next thinking 'what have i let myself in for' its early days yet! we are still finding our feet, we will get there and if it gets too much, email me for a chat take care luv jo xxx
