We had the usual introductions, getting to know you exercises and stuff. Then the unions came in and gave us a talk. I've joined unison (free nurses dictionary) and i'll probably join RCN too (for their online resources).
It was a bit intmidating at first. There were a couple of groups of girls that have just finished 6th form and all went to school together. They tended to just be sticking to their own little groups and not mixing much. But everyone i spoke to seemed to be very nice!
It was nice to see Purple Sheep too. A nice familiar face in a crowd of scary strangers!
A few people i spoke to seemed to have very little idea of what to expect. They seemed to think the course was easy! One in particular told me she'd chosen nursing because we get a bursary (not because she want's to be a nurse!)! That started me thinking about attrition rates... But that's for another thread!
I didn't even see my friend who's on the degree. I think he got sent somewhere different to us diploma peeps first thing this morning.
We don't enroll until Wednesday, which i was a bit disappointed about. I want to be an official student nurse now!
I'm very tired now! Barely got any sleep last night!
Re: 1st day over our matriculation took hours we had to actually wait outside as the queue was so long as it wound its way up and down the hal inside... but we did get a nice diary at the end.... the next day was just as bad as we all had to queue again to pick up our bursaries... least you wont have that problems
