This was exactly the type of ward I was expecting. Some of the group have got more exciting/interesting sounding placements, but I think at this stage in my training i'll get more learning ops on this ward than i would have on some of them. And who knows, care of the elderly may be my calling
Just need to phone the placement and arrange a visit....
Re: My placement will be..... i think its good to do your elderly wards early as you get loads of 'caring' experience and you can do the more exiting stuff once you have done the essentials.
Re: My placement will be..... I think its really nice that you are looking forward to your elderly placement....there aren't enough people to stick up for the rights and needs of the elderly in hospitals (heard too many horror stories)

I had to call back today to speak to the right person, and I got through straight away. She sounded really nice, and i'm going to visit next week Unfortunately she won't be there cos she's on holiday but i've got the name of someone else to ask for.
