Started 2nd year!
Enjoy class work, nice group of girls all friendly and supportive.
...but trying to sort my first community placement out is a night mare. I am the only one in the group who hasn't found out where I am going, I keep asking by e-mail and popping into the scooby doo house (northumbria peeps will know what I am talking about an old manor house just expect scooby doo to appear!!)
...anyway have spoken face to face still no luck am worried now if it is too far from where I live won't have enough time to change it!  ok moan over still can't believe I'm a second year YEEEEHHHHHH!!!!!!!

Yes brilliant news got community placement just down the road from me in a health centre....pays to be patient I spose!

Not any more the HV didn't know I was going and allready has a HV student...so waiting to see if another part time HV will take me on, should find out next week.
After reading your post Bembioni I should have realised not to count my chickens!!!

Now been told I was given the wrong H/C so rang the new one up who alo didn't know I was coming...and only the district nurse has the mentorship who goes out to see old people etc not children!!!
Am now desperately trying to get in touch with practice placement facilitator who should sort it out for me aaaggghhh!!!

Well honestly I am sooo lucky the original H/C I was given have rung up and the HV is doing the mentorship course this afternoon! So she will take me on no problem....now isn't that dedication!!!

Couldn't believe it got a phone call on Friday (start placement on Monday) to say sorry still haven't found anywhere for you to go
I told her that a kind HV has taken me on...of course the placement woman was really pleased and thanked me because she said it was a nightmare!!!
Am actually going to ring her next week and complain how unorganised and c**p they are!!!
It's been one long headache for the past 2 weeks.
