Essays, Exams, Tests 2nd year Thought I'd start a post for my results for 2nd year.
Firstly we had a class based test, multiple choice. It was only formative but I have high expectations of myself. When I saw the questions I nearly flipped, to be honest there were about 5 I was certain off! The others I really had to work at, they weren't easy at all. Anyway much to my surprise I managed 86%...highest in the class...oh I feel such a teachers pet..lol.
Re: Essays, Exams, Tests 2nd year This Friday is the day I get my results of my two scenario based exams from December and January.
I'm saying nothing about the outcome cuz when I think I've done well I do poorly and when I think I've done poorly I do well - so lips are sealed until Friday!
Re: Essays, Exams, Tests 2nd year Ok, results are out. I can now say that I did honestly feel I'd done well, I'd studied over the course of about a month, read lots and took much of it in. However, whenever I've felt I've done well in the past, I never have!! So didn't want to say I was quietly confident.
So for my first exam I got 70% and for the one that was more indepth I got 73% which brought my overall module result to 72%. To say I'm pleased is an understatment..lol..
Just had my essay result which was an article critique. It was my first time writing at level 2 so was slightly concerned. I needn't have been as I managed 71%, I'm pretty much pleased with myself..lol..
Re: Essays, Exams, Tests 2nd year So now, with placement over and only 8 days till submission date, I really need to get a move on with this next essay. It's a 3000 word literature review on one of 3 subjects, I've chosen Cancer Pain. I've got about 50 articles to work through but I've not even chosen the area of cancer pain I'm going to do...hmmm palliative? medicines? types of pain? I'm thinking medicines may be the "easiest" topic as there is so much about it, but I have to remember it's a nursing essay..(tutors words) yet as a nurse surely I need to know all about the medicines given, their uses and side effects.
Anyway I haven't got a clue where to go with this essay...we've not really had much discussion on a lit review in class and the guidelines for writing the essay are almost non existent.
Re: Essays, Exams, Tests 2nd year Well, that last essay was a bugger. Worst I've ever written, hardest I've ever written, I cried frequently during it, fell out with hubby because I was so stressed during it, thought about giving it up and throwing in the towel.
However I did manage 88%...ROFL. Happy? me? yes, pretty much!
