Rang my next placement.... Well, thought i'd be professional and give em a call. After some messing about i finally got someone to call me back and to be honest im not sure i like the sound of the person i spoke to I'd explained that the could contact me at home before 12 or later on my mobile as i'd be at uni for an afternoon lecture - when she rang i'd just that minuit walked in and she said she'd been trying to ring and 'well i was told you were at uni'. Err...i was.
Then she started straight on about what i could or couldn't wear 'YOU CANT WEAR JEANS' (like weve not been told already, AND FOR ALL SHE KNOWS I MIGHT NOT EVEN LIKE JEANS...grrrrr) and to come in on Monday at 9'ish'. Now i thought she meant for a visit and was about to say that would be difficult because i have lectures all day on Mon when she said 'is that going to be a problem?' Well i cleared that up and said about coming in for a visit to which she replied 'well its not neccesary - you dont have to'. She also asked what i'd be wanting to do while i was with them?.?.?.(Errr.. a bit of everything, maybe?) and didn't sound that enthralled about having a student at all. Good grief...it seems i cannot win and i havn't even started yet.

Re: Rang my next placement.... It might have been the ward clerk you spoke to. I remember phoning a placement and they wasnt expecting me i felt so stupid and they were really horrible saying things like we dont need students and we have enough work to do wothout baby sitting you. When i arrived for my shift i was phooooing myself, i met my mentor and OMG she was great and we hit it off right away, it was one of my best placements. What i am saying is wait and see. You no what i have been going through on my A+E placement, but if i can cope you can so go for it hon you will be great. I bet you have a good time. Kaz
Re: Rang my next placement.... Oooh errrr...this caused some upset on the main forun didn't it It's funny but when i posted i considered not using the 'useless teenager' phrase, but as i didn't mean it in a derogatory way i thought what the hell - freedom of speech and all that.
I am so not that sort of person...i believe in speaking my mind and being honest and i hate gossips and bad-mouthers - life is too short.
Anyhow, i hope the apology i offered was taken with good grace - suppose i'll never know?

Re: Rang my next placement.... Im sure it was excepted and you do come across as a very caring person and in no way wanting to offend, you can only please some of the people some of the times not all of the times, Ha, ha. How are you doing anyway???.
Re: Rang my next placement.... Yes i know you did Paul....i gave you a mention in the main forum for it....Thanks again to everyone. I'm just glad that it was only one person who took it out of context, and not more LOL.
My placement starts at the end of feb...my tutor is trying to find out which students have been there to get any info if you know what i mean!!
