Love this site, and I am so grateful to all the replies to my posts about access courses etc and the 'age' thing that I was worried about.

It really is the best and probably the only chance I will get to realize my dream of becoming a nurse, so thanks Lulu and the members for a brill site.

My hubby is away in Afganistan atm so coming on here helps me to take my mind of worrying about him too. The kids are away at boarding school too so this site actually stops me talking to the walls.

Can't wait to get on with my course now too although I'll probably be wishing I had all this free time again once I'm surrounded by work emoticon

Hiya

Welcome to the forum and the very best of luck with your access course. Another good place to study is with the open university although the down side is your very isolated.

Dont worry about being a mature student. We have students in their 50s training to be a nurse. The matron on my previous job started her training at 46.

One bit of advice start pilates, its great for your BACK!!

i am a mature student (defo cheesy expression) and have nearly finished my access course and am starting my nurse training in september, you don't have anything to worry about emoticon
