 A bit about me.
I am 19 yrs old and live in Northwich, Cheshire (nr Manchester). I have my NVQ2 Care, GNVQ intermediate Health and Social Care, Technical Cert in Care, and i have just completed my NVQ3 Health and Social Care. I have quite abit of experience in the care field, at school i did 1 day aweek for 1 yr works experience at a special school for children with autism and at 16 i joined an NHS Cadet Course which was badly run, during the cadet course i experienced placements at a dayentre which was EMI and some elderly learning dis, and also placements at a local hospital in primary care and at 2 other daycentres for adults with learning disabilities, from this i decided i wanted to work with adults with learning disabiltities as i loved the client group and new i had found the career i wanted to be in. I started working in supported housing for adults with learnign disabilities / mental health issues etc some who are detained under the mental health act, i started working there in april 05, since then i have completed nvq3 in health and social care and i have been nominated for the city & guilds outstanding achievement award. The External Verifer said my level 3 portfolio was at the standard of a level4.
Through out the past 3 yrs i have gained many supplementary certificates.
I am starting my Nurse Training at Chester Uni, based at Leighton, Crewe with Cheshire and Wirral Partnerships Trust doing Learning Disability nursing, and i cant wait. Eventually i want to work as a community nurse, but do hope to do another branch further on in my career i.e. mental health / general.
so far i have sent off my bursary forms, and have my occy health check on 17th July 2006.
