decidin to emmigrate We have been thinking and talking about it for so long now but we have decided that if we can we are going to move abroad.
My hubby is a fireman but also works as a tree surgeon and that will give us 60 points.
I am not sure how we go about it but I have heard it takes ages so this week I am going to do some finding out and see what position we are in and if it would be possible. Fingers crossed everyone please.
The only thing is leaving my friends and horse that is the pull on the heart strings thing.
Re: decidin to emmigrate Australia hopefully hun, we have been looking at Perth and surrounding areas although I am hoping to go over next year and have a good look around. Am waiting for a consultant to ring to give me some advice on if it's a pipe dream or if there's a real chance we could apply.
Re: decidin to emmigrate Thanks hun, I think we are going to need all the luck I can get!! Some say yes we would be eligable and some say no so am now really confused and am going to have a large cup of coffee and stop myhead from buzzing!!

Re: decidin to emmigrate This is something that we have often talked about but have never been in a position to do because of one thing or another and now I think we may be too old.
So..... just go for it and if you find out that you can't get there then at least you have tried. There are loads of websites that can help you sort out the points system and Australia House is very helpful too.
Good luck with you dream. Its certainly worth a visit anyway, a beautiful country.
Re: decidin to emmigrate I really hope I can do it I am really excited about it all.
Had some brill news today!!I have been accepted by a hospital in Queensland to do part of my elective placement there so am over the moon. Dropped forms into uni today and they said no problems and they will approve it by next week so i am over the bloody buggering moon. A lecturer said that if i impress them they will probably offer me a job and that will speed the visa process up and I won't need the 18 months post reg experience.
YIPPPPPPPPPPPPPEEEEE. I finally realised today that all this stress and work MAY be worth while
