Induction ends and it all kicks off!

Tommorrow the modules are launched emoticon So far I have survived the 3 weeks of induction and, I have to say, really enjoyed them emoticon I know I initially whinged and moaned about having 3 weeks of induction but I can now see that it has been a necessary process and it has been nice to find my way around and get to know a few people on my course without the pressure of lectures, upcoming placement and modules to contend with.My one great find (besides how to access info on WOLF the uni intranet) has been Kerry (KJB21) She is an absolute emoticon and we have become very firm friends in a short space of time. We now car share which makes the horrid M6 seem a lot less stressful and I know she'll be there for me as I will be there for her emoticon .
We had a talk on our placements today, what was expected of us, what we can expect and general info on our CAPD. It was a useful session as many questions were asked but still some are banging on about the unfairness of our group being on placement for Christmas now and in 2008 (we have had our flowthroughs for the whole course) Yes it may be a bit unfair that we have been rostered on two Christmas holidays when the other group emoticon but S**T HAPPENS! Nursing is 24/7 and the sooner we learn that lesson the better! The other thing that grinds my gears at the moment are the constant texters/crisp eaters and chatters emoticon Hopefully when we split into smaller groups we will lose them.
I have to say our small degree group seem very nice with some real characters in there (Not naming anyone - Dan!)and I am genuinely looking forward to working with them all.
To finish todays session the Uni organised for 6 2nd year students to come in and tell us how it really is emoticon They were frank, honest and to the point and I felt it was good to find exactly what it is going to be like from someone who is doing it for real. They had nothing but praise for the University which reinforced my belief in my choice (if I ever had a doubt!). I now can't wait! Bring it on! I am ready for this challenge!!

See you next time
