My background
Hi to those reading this.My names Rae and i'm half way through my first year of nurse training at Queen's university in Belfast Northern Ireland. I'm what they refer to as a mature student as i'm 33 and have had my family, three daughters aged 13, 10, 7 yrs.
We moved to Northern Ireland last year Aug 2005 as my sister lives here and has my children after school whilst i do my training something i never would of been able to cope with in England was childcare.
Before i got my place at uni i did a two year access course and then completed a year as a nursing cadet spending time on a plastic surgery ward and doing my NVQ level 2 and an English GCSE. I started my nurse training in March and have been to a stroke ward, mental health and am currently in respire care. We have exams coming up in the next few weeks scarey stuff. I 'm hoping that i do well but its hard trying to remember all this stuff from the past 7 mths in two, two hour exams.
