Books???

Does anybody have any idea about which books I might need for adult nursing? There are hundreds of them out there!!! Some I have asked say you don't need books just use the internet & others say the reading lists differ each year.
There must be some books out there that will be used over & over within my student years, I would like to be able to get some that will be useful for my course while I am still working & have some money!! Both my children change schools in Septemeber & I don't want to leave buying my stuff til then & have to buy theirs at the same time emoticon

Re: Books???

the recommend reading lists tend to vary from uni to uni and even from module to module,

however the most popular ones are the student nurse handbook by bethan siviter, ross and wilson anatomy and physiology by grant and waugh, the royal marsden manual by dougherty and lister and nursing practice hospital and home by alexander fawcett and runciman.

you could get in touch with your uni to see if they recommend any of these books.

you can always get others out the libraray or add to them as you go along.

some unis prefer you to have a more indepth anatomy book than the ross and wilson but its easy to understand if you find biology challenging.

good luck with your course

Re: Books???

Thanks for that! I have Royal Marsden on it's way as that is one book that keeps getting mentioned. I have a human biology book that took me through GCSE a couple of years ago, so at least I have something to revise from until I need a more indepth book!
