Re: A Question of Scale

the error margin is exactly 1.66666666666% for Blue Scale switching from 59 to 60 pixel for 3m.

And it would be 120 instead of 118 pixels for RedScale (3m) and thus the same Margin of Error.

Okay, one of the announcements that was made during the recent schism between Frank and the forums was that the deckplan scales were going to be converted from Imperial to Metric units.

BTW, is this what caused the rift or was this going to happen anyway?

Re: A Question of Scale

I thought the deckplans were in metric anyways, hence the scale bar in the upper conner. But then again i could be very wrong.

The "previous" scale was blue 1 pixel =2 inches red was 1 pixel= 1 inch and I forget what yellow is... err was, something like 30 pixels to the foot.

Grtak - the schism had absolutely nothing to do with whether or not to adjust the scale bars with accuracy to metres rather than inches...it was instead, irreconcilable differences over the approach to the community to share the work that we do here.

Re: A Question of Scale

I would recommend that anything currently in progress remains in its current scale and any new projects begin with the new scale. My .02 credits and I can provide a refund if not completely satisfied.

Re: A Question of Scale

I'm all for the change in scale, for the finished designs, I'd say leave them till there is enough interest in "accurizing them" with such a small margin of error, I wouldn't worry about it.

For the designed in progress, it would come down to the person doing the work to deside. If they are early in the design and diagram stage, the change should be done. If we're talking about where the doors are to the head, it's ok to stay at the old scale.

That's my Rebel opinion emoticon
