Displaying Works In Progress in the Gallery

Greetings,

It has been suggested in the IRC Chat that it might be a good idea to post works in progress in our gallery to facilitate browsing of the projects we have in the forums.

In favor. Teasers keep people interested.

We also got projects running here, that definately deserve the spotlight of beeing presented to people outside the forum. For example the AT-AT and the Skipray. It would increase interest in the Gallery and in the Forum and might lead to more input and feedback.

You also should have a watch on how much time goes by without an update...don't want it to turn into an endless "comming soon" page...

We will need to determine a point at which the project can be entered. You wouldn't want the first outline drawing in the gallery. Also adding some of the 3d drawings would be cool. emoticon

Well, I think it is safe to add a project, once the external orthos are completed and basic internal work has been done. In other words: When it is only a matter of weeks, till it might be completed.

I'm going with no, but it looks like everyone else likes the idea.

If your going to do this, just use the "Featured Projects" images (and others not featured if you want) above to link to the various threads.

I am going with no as well. The gallery should be for finished projects, not WIPs. If people want to see WIPs, they can come to the forums.

My suggestion would be to use the same banner of WIPs on the gallery and let people come here.

well, there is also the option of a page with all of the indicated projects that are listed here, and links to the appropriate threads. That is already in progress as I type this, and a vast majority of that list is complete.

Perhaps that will satisfy those that do not want to see wips on the gallery.
