I just checked the cgi webclient and it is working just fine. Lucas and Slay didn't seem to have any problems so far. I'm afraif I can't help you, unless you are a bit more precise about which part of it all isn't working. emoticon

Re: Deckplan Alliance IRC-Chat

i have followed the directions
quote:

http://webirc.hrun.net/cgi-bin/irc.cgi?adv=1

Nickname: Enter your nickname.
Realname: Enter your realname (optional)
Server: Leave as it is
Port: Leave as it is
Channel: #EU-Laberecke -change to-> #DeckplanAlliance
Password: Leave empty
Format: Choose as you like. I prefer dark.
Character Set: Leave as it is.

Then press login.

then it tells me to enter my nick name

The syntax to enter a new nickname is /nick JasonStaar. And don't put spaces in nicks. /nick Jason Staar would make you Jason. If something doesn't work the way you expected it to do, the console tab of the cgi client tells you what the server wants.

Okay, now a quick guide to IRC terminology.

NickServ - This manages nicknames on the server. /msg NickServ, or just short /ns lets you speak to the nickname service. NickServ allows you to "register" a nickname and prevent others from using it. NickServ is controlled through various commands which allow for registration and maintenance of nicknames. For a list of commands, type /msg NickServ HELP COMMANDS; to use a command, type /msg NickServ command, and for more information on a specific command, type /msg NickServ HELP command. Remember, instead of typing /msg NickServ, you can always type the shorter /ns command.

Most common use:
/ns register to register a nickname.
/nick nickname to change your nickname.

Example: /nick Dude359 to change your nickname into Dude 359.

/msg nickname lets you speak directly to the user with the nickname you typed. This is a query connection that only the one can read that is adressed. Most irc clients open a new channel window for this, which is called a query.

I am happy to announce that we have stock of regular users between 3 and 5 now. Everybody please take a look, give it a try, get yourself an irc client and pay us a visit. Perhaps we will also have an english language Star Wars IRC roleplaying session soon, so everyone interested should really consider to drop by. emoticon

Force be with'ya and stuff.
