Re: Life Support systems
Mara Jade's remoteness of rescue also comes from the fact that she was hit by an Ion cannon, or nicked by one that wiped out all here electrical gear including beacon. Worth noting is that it also disabled atleast in part her lifesupport enough to stop it working atleast in full. She was unconcious and suffered the full effects of oxygen starvation, she had neural surgery to repair some of the effects and it was only Skywalkers rapid rescue that saved her life.

Re: Life Support systems
From page 50 of "Star Wars: The Essential Guide to Vehicles and Vessels"
description of CEC Class- 6 Escape pod
"The interior of an escape pod is spartan: passengers are expected to use the pod only for a few hours."
next paragraph
"The interior compartments carry up to two weeks worth of rations, including food, water, survival shelters, med-pacs, breath masks, glow rods and comlinks."
Now I would assume that a full day would not be out of the ordinary, but would be strecthing the capabilities somewhat. And I also assume from this description that the food and water supplies are more for after landing, than for the actual "escape flight."
Also, I am unable to locate my Thrawn triolgy books to get the description of the Mara Jade ejection and rescue. Do any of you have the books to get it?
