Mon Calamari Turbolasers

A Question, how do big turbolasers on Mon Calamari-Cruisers look like? Do they look like round bulbs on the surface of the ship or like the turbolasers on Impirial Star Destroyers?

Hard to say. Star Wars ships have never been overly detailed when it comes to armament. In most cases, there are hardly any weapons that can be identified.

In case of the Moncal cruisers, I'd say it fits the aesthetics, if the guns are mounted into the hull, protruding in protective bubbles. Similar to some bunker cannons of WWII.

Star Wars Technical commentaries website has a page on Mon Cal warships and their conclusion is that it's a mix of the blisters and also some grooves. Though this is all assumption.

After some thoughts this idea burns into my head...

It is a concept for a Anti-Starfighter-Turrent. I think the elegance of the cruisers is not disturbed with a weapon like this. Even if the gun is much bigger, this concept will work.

The Mon Calmari, did not like the idea of butchering their ships to add guns to them. My guess is that if they were forced to do it, they would make them look nice, or hide them as best they could without hindering the gun itself.

That concept is preaty sweet.

It could be that only the focussing element of a Mon Cal style turbolaser requires to move to direct the weapons fire, the rest of the weapon is mounted within the hull.

I would agree that the gun componets are inside the hull of the Mon Cal ships, and that there are slits in the hull that look like windows. This is also demonstrated in Episode III duringthe opening battle and also in Episode IV when R2 and 3PO escape from the CR-90.

Likely the blisters on the mon cal ships are not themselves gun mounts as they don't look like they were added to the hull after the ships were converted from being luxury liners to combat ships.
