Re: Tanks with stuff inside... but what is it?
I am sorry. You see, if I don't understand I tend to just ask what you mean, not go off and find some other possible meaning.
Which brings me to CIMDA. I take it you ain't trying to tell me my dog is sick (CIMDA means Canine Immune Medicated Disease Awareness to me). So? What is CIMDA.
As a Herald I research, design and submit Coats of Arms for registration by one of the Colleges of Heralds.
Unlike most other Heralds I am also a trained actor so I can do all that voice work that no longer exists. ;-)

Herald, I do apologize for any misunderstanding, Void's interpretation and explanation is accurate (thanks Void).
Thank you for the explanation Herald, that does answer my question, and sounds like an interesting gig, you've got there.
As for voice acting...there is a huge market for voice actors right now, especially in animation and video games....which I am sure you are aware of.

Computer Image-Media Digital Artist. A short-lived designation for what would be called CGI Artist today that some EU bureaucracy goons tried to establish during the late 80s, but it didn't catch on. I couldn't even find it in a dictionary anymore and most people never heard of it (and probably never will). Only very few media insiders have ever heard that name. I chose it, because for most people, it has no evident meaning and it can't be looked up reliably in dictionaries. Same problem I had, when I looked for Heralds.
So now that we solved this, let me extend a warm welcome to you. Your expertise could be most usefull to us and I am happy to welcome you to the active part of this community. As I understand it, as a military herald, you did things like unit batch design and coats of arms, yes? I was wondering if you might like to extend that knowledge to the Star Wars Galaxy, because I noticed that something like coats of arms is almost non-existent in Star Wars. Neither the Empire nor the Old Republic have a real coat of arms. Just a simple logo. I blame that on the lack of knowledge most authors have in that area, but I think it would be a great enrichment for the expanded universe. Did you by chance do anything in that direction, that you might share?
Oh and another thing that just crossed my mind:
You said "We never place Colour on Colour,
or Metal on Metal...road signs, number plates, danger signs. If it works then its either Metal on Colour or Colour on Metal. " and I had to think immediately about our German 'no parking' signs. I thought that might interest you, because if I got you right, this is color on color. And yes, these are the ONLY signs I'm aware of, that actually conflict the laws of heraldics you stated. I consider that a good proof of concept.

And that answers that.

Sadly it's more like the result of a trend that is already starting. "When in doubt make it simpler/brighter."
Your parking signs only prove the Heraldic 'Rules of Tincture' right. They had to invent Day-glo paint to make them work. Lol.

With the new color scheme in place, we will have to overhaul the tank codes. That will be done in the other forum, using this thread for reference. Topic closed.
