Rapid deployment base

The mod that Xynar had made off my Rimspace Cargosystems BR-HD1 "Brickhead" Dropship inspired me do expand on the concept and make something similar, but I got bored with it and decided not to continue work on it.

It started with a dropship container that included seats for troops and some basic medical units. Then I made a second container, only for troops and soon the container park grew.

This is a rapid deployment base, thought to be deployed by a type of ship very similar to Xynars mod of my Brickhead dropship.

It consists of various types of specilised containers. Containers with strengthened walls, gun turrets and fire ports for defense, cargo pods, command pods, assault pods for landing troops with medical back-up and so forth. I was going to make a power supply pod, a life support pod for hostile worlds, a prison pod, mess pod and so on, but as I said, I got bored with it.

If someone wants to pick it up, please feel free to do so, as long as you work within the boundaries I have set and give me credits for it. I just didn't want to throw it into the dumpster.

If someone is interested in this, you might look into modern Combat Support Hospitals.

How do you envision them being carried and deployed? By dropship, freighter, or special vessel that is designed to carry them?

Special dropship, like the Brickhead mod you did. The Defense module is delivered without the gun turret mounted, but thats only necessary for long term encampment so that the time to deliver and install it is not such a problem.

All pods have individual life support and energy cells in the ceiling and under the floor and the airlocks have ports to connect those systems to each other, as well as to a global matrix with a power supply module somewhere in the connected complex. There should also be special modules who form a single unit via fold away side walls, once deployed besides each other on the ground.

So i couldn't resist doing a quick and dirty addon emoticon

Don't intend to do more... but if everyone designs a Container or 2...

I didn't know which Aurebesh Font you used to label them so i didn't label them emoticon

I made a Power Container, Life Support, Armory, Mess (Autochef only), a real Kitchen (on the bottom) and a Empty one for other people to start emoticon.

Excellent. Nice to see that it is picked up, instead of landing in the dumpster. emoticon

They seem a little cramped. Although they are not ment to be used for a long time. Maybe it is beasue I am parshal They seem a little cramped (narrow). Although they are not ment to be used for a long time. Maybe it is because I am partial to the ones from the hideouts and strongholds book (with some tweaking). They may grow on me.

I gather these are like modern pre-fab units yes?

Having those anti-aircraft sections designed to sit on end so they are infact towers to give better lines of sight.

I see those and I think of a grid like system of those units making the whole station.

Would a landing grid with refueling and maintenance spaces underneath be worth designing or would you just have ships land on the ground? if so how about starfighter/transport support modules?

All kinds of support modules will make sense, but landing pads would be extra. In fact, I think as soon as a landing pad is required, we are not talking about a temporary encampment anymore. In that case, I would assume that the engineer units build a landing plattform instead of shipping one in. Support modules however make sense to contain refueling and service facilities.

There could also be corridor modules, which are nothing but a connection between two of the other modules. A module could be built to stand upright in order to have a tower, but it would have to be anchored to the ground to be safe.
