Capsule:

In the waning days of the Old Republic, Arini Industries manufactured a line of inexpensive modular space stations and outposts. One of the smaller and more popular ones was the Type 4457-A. At a little over 27 meters long, the station was suitable for small scientific outposts and storage depots, and was fairly common in the less accessable corners of the galaxy. The station that became Waystation 4134 was an astrographical observation post that had drifted into the dense nebula of the Kaazjrin Rift and been lost. Years later, a patroling Kaoumini Firespray stumbled across the station, and it was converted to a rest station for mission-weary crews on extended deployment.

The station has semiprivate sleeping quarters for up to eight people, a laundry, a galley, and a small supply depot. Crews are responsible for ferrying supplies to keep the station stocks, as well as basic maitenence, and they've kept the station in fairly good condition (though they occasionally forget to clean out the 'fridge).

Waystation 4134's defenses consist of a pair of dual laser turrets and modest shields.

Re: Royal Navy Patrol Waystation 4134

Deckplan:

Image

The interior of Waystation 4134 consists of a single deck, with up to 300cm of headroom. Descriptions of its various compartments follow.

Airlocks and Entry Foyer
At the hammer-shaped "bow" of the station is the entry foyer with two airlocks. They are designed to fit most standard cylandrical auxiliary docking ports. The airlocks are microgravity environments to allow crew to transition from the gravity orientation in a docked ship to the gravity orientation of the station.

Main Module
"Aft" of the Entry foyer is the station's main module. It contains a lounge and galley, four bunkrooms, and a head.

Common Room Just "aft" of the entry foyer in the main module is the common. It contains the station's control console, an eating area with a built-in holoprojector, and a small galley.

Bunkrooms"Aft" of the common room are the station's four bunkrooms. Each contains a double bunk, a desk with a computer terminal, and a chair.

HeadAt the "aft" end of the main module is the station's head. It contains two toilet stalls, a sink, and a shower.

Reactor Module
"Aft" of the main module is the reactor module. It contains the station's power core, cooling system, and shield generator.

Environmental Module
"Starboard" of the reactor and main modules is the environmental module. This module contains the station's consumables, life support, environmental management systems, and batteries. One of the station's two cannons is located here.

Storage Module
"Port" of the reactor and main modules is the storage module. This module contains the station's laundry, and a large storeroom for non-perishable supplies. One of the station's two cannons is located here.

Well, not quite as pretty as your ships emoticon

Clever idea, I like it and I like the backstory, it gives the station a "feel", if that makes sense.

The station is automated, and is designed so that it may be put into a hibernation mode and left to its own devices, sometimes for years. Even after such a long period, it can be reactivated and ready for habitation in a couple of hours. As part of a modular system, the type 4457-A can be connected to a number of other modules, allowing it to be customized to different needs (Note: I used the Rapid Deployment Base modules that can be found here and these modules may be used to easily expand this station.) The station has semiprivate sleeping quarters for up to eight people, a laundry, a galley, and a small supply depot.

Re: Royal Navy Patrol Waystation 4134

The waystation is not meant as a base, but as rest-stop. Crews are allowed to take a couple of days off during their one-month patrols. It represents a marked increase in available space over the Sharisa, though crews tend to spend their stopover time resting. It's is generally kept stocked with the pilots' favorite holodramas, video games and books. Being able to do some laundry is also a bonus.

The stopover schedule is staggered so that there is no gap in coverage while a patrol is at the station.
