Oh My....!

Nice work Technocc!!

A couple of questions though;

1) what scale is that in?
I realize that it might be bluescale, but I think that the scale should be larger, so that more detailing can be shown.

2) is that a tracing from the Essential Guide?
The leg positioning is very reminiscent of that. If not, what sources did you use?

3) Do you have other views in progress?

Seriously, it looks fantastic and you appear to have done a lot of work on this.

kind regards,
Lucas

Re: AT-AT

Part scan of Essential Guide, part Star Was Miniature compare, and part incredible cross-sections.

I was doing it in a larger scale then desided to make it bluescale. I will add details to a redscale version and the scale it down to blue.

The feet are to tall and the legs need to be remade.

With the three sources I have it will look even better next month.

Looking good so far dude! emoticon

Here's a reference pic I took not too long ago:

It's possibly the only full-size mock-up in existence anywhere. I also believe I've seen some other reference pictures in some of my WEG books; I'll post them if I find any.

Re: AT-AT

ah yes, Jas Hodges incredible AT AT mesh. I had been following the development of that mesh since 2004 over at www.scifi-meshes.com.

However, I would be more comfortable using exclusive screencaps and model references for this rather than the Essential guide or someone else's non-canon work to develop this vehicle.

Lucas

Exellent work so far! It was about time that someone picked up this baby. emoticon

I don't want to spoil the fun, but the first thing that has to be done with the AT-AT is size determination. Sure, we could just assume that the official size is correct, but since the official size values have been wrong in 100% of all cases so far, I'd trust them less than a scientology man.

So how big is an AT-AT really and how sure can we be, that the size is correct, compared to interior shots of it?

I have to agree with Void on this.

Re: AT-AT

It's a pity I don't have another Disney trip planned before at least September... there's a giant AT-AT footprint (and foot) along the que line to Star Tours and one could measure it in order to get a solid frame of reference.

Okay then, how tall is Mark Hamil?

We have the scene in TESB where he zips up the cable to get underneath an AT-AT's belly... if we know how tall he is, then we should be able to extrapolate an approximate length for the walker.

Having said that, however, the listed stats of 20.6m long and 15.5m tall do seem pretty feasible to me.
