Does this constitute a new law:

Paul's Law: As a SWDA discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving F-15s approaches one. emoticon

It is our job as fans to try and explain why something looks the way it does on screen, not to change it because we don't agree with the level of detail, or because we feel that when rendering the subject in larger scale that it is okay to change the appearance.

That's not my job, duty, or service as a fan. Please don't take the position that you speak for everyone. I liken the whole of Star Wars as toy. We all play with our Star Wars in a different way.

And yes, the F-15 is a broken record that I'm tired of playing as much as you guys are tired of hearing. I bring it up because I doubt that new comers look at the Bios.

I have been looking over my model and plan to post some pics after work.

However, even with GL a raving lunatic of pain and suffering, I must disagree that anything seen in the movies (and the movies alone) should be tampered with. Defined, yes, but altered absolutely not.

The biggest thing I hate about Star Wars is the huge amount of retconning that goes on. With the original trilogy, at least, that should certainly be kept to a minimum. And changing the appearance of a filmed ship is the worst kind of retconning.

It seems that GL and his crew did a lot of retconning. Look at the Falcon. They made severl changes to it in EP 4-6. Tie fighters were changed some also.

So, if they can't make up there mind how it should look, then I don't see why we can't make it look right. MHO

See though, this is my point. George Lucas can change whatever he wants...it's his. I might not like it, but I can't refute it.

Just becuase he has the power to change what he wants, doesn't mean he can.
He changed the OT and refused to put it to dvd for awhile, now he's doing it.

Once he put the film on the screen, it became mine too. If he wants to make any more money with HIS galaxy, he has to make it to my satisfaction also.
(You can replace "mine" and "my" with "the fans")

Uh, what?! He can, because he has. And he probably will again. And apperantly, the "fans" loved the prequels, if their box office take is any indication. But considering his target audience were children, who really cares?

And as far as "your" satisfaction goes, Georgie boy doesn't give a rat's ass. He's made his billions, what are you to him.

George Lucas has also stated, on more than one occasion, that the only official vision (canon if you will) is his. Everything else is at best secondary, and at worst completely unofficial.

My original point still stands unmolested. If anyone other than Georgo Lucas changes anything seen in the films, then they have just produced an unofficial version. Period.

Grtak, Paul, while I totally agree with the anti-hijacking feelings, I’m sure there aren’t too many threads that haven’t had at least one hijacking. Not to mention this thread was VERY dormant ( last relevant post date prior to this month is 1/22/2006, 8:44 am) way back on page one.
This being Lucas’s thread and Lucas being THE admin, I’m sure he can delete any post he feels necessary.
