Re: Can somone give me a deck plan for a YT - 1300
*Thread moved to film WIP section.*
To answer your question, research is still ongoing for this project. There are several threads concerning the YT 1300 already and we are slowly building reference material for this ship.
sorry, but there are no accurate deckplans of the YT 1300 that exist at this time.

Lucas

I did see one over on SWDeckplanA that Frank Bonura made a while ago... It's not exactly accurate... But it's a start. If your just using it for RPing, it should work...

Im sure there are better ones out there
That design is just aweful, and i wouldnt use that exact deckplan even if someone paid me
Still someone on here must have something better

Re: Can somone give me a deck plan for a YT - 1300
Oh, that one. Yes, that is pretty old. But keep in mind, the YT-1300 is a very treacherous ship to work on. Especially since so many things are so ****ed up and messy, using different models in different scales, internal mockups that don't fit inside the external mock-ups and so on...
Frank Bonura did a really good job on that deckplan. It only looks so primitive, because it is really old and shows one of the earliest development stages of his style. You can't blame him for that. The deckplan is still usefull as a game reference. It is just not that accurate and pretty, but there are few better plans.
In fact, the only deckplan I've ever seen, which was actually better, was the one of the first ORIGINAL deckplans of the Falcon, when it was not yet named YT-1300 and was still a Courier instead of a Light Freighter.

Well until someone decides how big the Falcon actually is and sticks to that, nobody's posting a thing. Because if it not the right with everyone's expectations (and opinions vary greatly) it would quickly degenerate into a flame war.
Personally, I'm not even going to touch that ship.

Re: Can somone give me a deck plan for a YT - 1300
Well, I think it should always be pointed out, that every deckplan drawn is an interpretation of the artist who creates it. Because of the Millenium Falcon, the YT-1300 is very complicated, but it can still be done. It just can't be done right, because there is a wide range of possibilities.
Lucas and Frank changed the size of the A-Wing, for example. They did so after extensive research, but that does not mean that everyone agrees. Some will disagree, because they interpret his facts differently, others because they just stick to the canon sizes and others because it means, they can't stuff 250 A-Wings into their Action VI carrier. You never reach 100% acceptance.
Eventually, non of that matters.
The most important things when developing a deckplan are, if the result is credible, well researched and thought through. There is no 100% right in fictional spaceship designs. If there was, they would not be fictional anymore.
I don't want to touch this ship either. Not because I was afraid of doing it, but because I just don't like the YT-1300. If someone else wants to do it, I'd offer any help I might be able to provide, but since it is a ship almost never seen in my rpg campaign, I don't have the motivation to get it done by myself.
You have to love your ship to bring it to life and I don't love the YT-1300 one bit.
