 Just call him Sal for a shortened version.

okay, that's it. I created a thread for naming Quint's cat here, complete with picture;

Name Quint's Cat Contest

If you want to talk about the cat, do it there. this thread is about the Baudo. Further posts not related to the topic will be deleted.

Lucas

Re: Baudo-class Star Yacht

    SO it looks like this thread has been dead for a couple of years now... which makes me sad, as I'd really like to see the BSY completed.

    Quint, if you're still around, all the image links you posted lead to 'file not found' pages (when they lead anywhere): any way we can see the work in progress? Makes it a lot easier to comment/contribute. emoticon

    I do have one question: seems like all the plans I've seen are based on the Baudo being about 100 feet from stem to stern. Where does that measurement come from? It seems about 1/3 too small to me. To handle 8 passengers, 35 tonnes of cargo, and *still* be classified a luxury yacht - which means relative comfort for the passengers - I'd think it would have to be about 150 feet long, 30 feet high, and 105 feet from wingtip to tip.

    Which means the ****pit config changes, too. The pilot's seat position could allow for forward viewing directly out the front. emoticon

    Also I'd like to comment on the various mods for the ship that are possible, specifically the two pods on the sides. I suspect that in the luxury versions of the ship those pods are passenger compartments or storage holds (or both): a stripped down racing version probably uses them for power/fuel.

    Anyway, that's my $.02. Here's hoping that Quint et. al. finds time to finish this up. emoticon

Thank you for your post faentur and welcome to the SWDA, but if you would please take a moment to read the top of these pages, you will see that this is actually an archive. If you will click on the link to the current updated forum, I think you will find that the Baudo is definitely not dead, and there is additional material on her.

However, I am sad to say that Quint is not a contributing member to our forums any more.

Please take the time to register at the new forum and join the discussions there. emoticon

thank you again!

Best regards,
Lucas
