Sitting on the edge of my seat here. I will be honest in saying that if it lost out to the 1300 I would not be that dissappointed. Used to get teased by the fact that I used something even older then the 1300 but that was part of the charm to me.

I can promise that once it is done I will be working on modding it out and of course will offer my work up on this site for all to enjoy and tear apart to the hearts desire.

Why wait til it's done? Go grab a copy from the site, and start playing with modding it right now... Or any other ship availble there. Start now, get the 'feel' or 'hang' of it and goto town emoticon By the time the Barloz is officially done, you're modding skills will be at least half decent, you'll know what works, what dosn't, and you'll be able to start pimping out that barloz ride emoticon The sooner you start, the better off you are in whole. Why wait sitting doing nothing when you could put this time to excellent and benificial use? emoticon

Frank's & Bob Brown's work has been a great inspiration to me, is sorta the reason why i decided to take my hand and dable with it. First time attempts at a mod job was with the YT-2400 frieghter for my character, Frank wasn't too happy about how/why i cut out the bulk of the inner systems for more frontal cargohold space and re-arrangement for a few extra passenger cabins. But hey, it was a great learning experiance, little skill required. And I wasn't even using MS paint, but Corel Photopaint at the time.

I've got a few more projects on the back burner (hobby thats on & off in my free time), SW ships this time. My style right now is different from Frank's, mainly due to a vector drawing program I'm using - Corel Draw. But the key thing is - i've gotten into the same or similar mode of thinking as Frank does for all his stuff - where do things go? hight & space restrictions, especially floor to cieling. The mechanics of the ship - how does it work? where will the landing gear fit? How much interior space for systems do I need between walls and decks? I look at the WEG stuff and imediately say "Oh Gawd..." and shake my head in distgust.

Weren't it for Frank's work, and his help & opinions when asked, (constructive criticism and all) I would've never even tried my hand at drawing ships in the first place, let alone continually dogging at it as i still am now. As when it comes to a pencil and paper, I can't even draw a proper stick figure to save my life emoticon

Re: Barloz

Actually I have been working on some mods to make it what I once had. Hopefully the base Barloz won't change all that much so I can just cut and paste and a few minor mods.
My big problem is that I work around 140 hours a week most so have little time.

I do agree about the WEG deck plans. Seems that a bunch of old Dungeon mappers got together to make the deck plans.

Barloz Progress is going well. I am removing all modifications from the Lady Sunfire pics, and I am exposing the stock freighter underneath. The Barloz is also getting new paint.

Re: Barloz

I'm not sure if this is still an issue as the deckplans for the Barloz on the site are a bit dated but I think the pathway made with the caution stripes on deck 2 should be placed against the wall. Otherwise, only thin crates would be able to fit between the pathway and the wall. If the pathway is against the wall, larger containers can be placed there which would otherwise have to be placed across the path.

I propose something like this:

Frank,

If there is anything you would like help with on this or any other project, I'd be happy to lend a hand.

Fity, you wont recognise deck 2 once I finish it. I plan to gut 90% of it and start over.

Mir I have posted several projects ,and will try to post a new one every other week. Look around and assist on anything you see being developed. Ask questions, and offer some encouragement. You will find something.

“Pirates and Privateers” p. 65 says that the Barloz has a cargo capacity of 85 MT, “Stock Ships” p. 55 says the Barloz has 120 MT, and the modified Barloz “Lady Sunfire” on page 235 of the “Thrawn Trilogy” Sourcebook says 70 MT.

Would anyone like to venture an opinion as to whether the cargo capacity is 85 or 120 metric tons. We should discuss this as I finish the Barloz.

Progress report: Front view is overhauled, and I have moved on to the top view. emoticon

Well theforce.net says it can haul up to 120 MT so that is not much help either.

But I would say because it is "a popular" ship that it would be more toward the 120 MT mark, but how is the "Lady Sunfire" modified?
