Interior is already well on the way. emoticon

About the landing gear:

1) As Slay said, it looks that way in the image.
2) There are other means to strengthen something in Star Wars. Extremely durable materials are one thing, Tensorfields are another. More importantly, though:
3) The center of mass is just a bit in front of the aft landing gear, since the heaviest machinery will be the powercore, the main thruster and the wings.

I think it would work, even though I agree that a small support piston would look good.

The Millenium Falcon style Pop-Down Repeater Blaster in the Gunstore looks like if the supports were added to the foreward landing gear they might add the support in a functional, simple, not too complicated, elegant way.
