Nestt Series - Regenesis/Degenesis

I was itching to do the Nestt back when I did the Nella (which is in the last stage of beeing fully completed as we speak) and this itch became more and more powerfull, the more the Nella evolved.

I thought about it a lot and eventually, I decided that I still wanted to redo the Nestt, completely from scratch.

I will post stats and capsule soon, as well as my sketch models. Everyone is invited to look them up in Pirates and Privateers, page 63 and post thoughts based on stats and silhouete. Any input is welcome.

The Nestt-interpretation that Frank Bonura did and which he provides on his site will not be considered as reference by me. This is a complete from scratch redo. Since my decision to do it is final, there is no need to tell me that "it has been done before" and that "there is no need to redo it". I disagree and I will not change my mind about it. emoticon

I am very much looking forward to this project. Let's see if the development will exceed the 50 plus pages that the Nella did. emoticon

I agree with lucas, and the nestt has always been one of my favorite ships.

I'm sincerely hoping, that I can match your expectations. I have learned a lot when doing the Nella and I intend to give the Nestt much of the same treat. It will be a very different ship, once I am done with it.

By the way: If someone feels like it, please be invited to take some research off my hands, wether this ship is named Nestt or Nesst. I have seen both variants in multiple sources. Frank's page mentions that issue as well and came to the conclusion that it should be Nestt, but I don't want to copy his research results, which is why this has to be reclarified.

I think the simplest thing to do is to take two considerations in that case.

1) when is it first mentioned, and how is it spelled.

2) How many times are either spelling mentioned, and then use whiver one has the most iterations in official sources.

Lucas

2) How many times are either spelling mentioned, and then use whiver one has the most iterations in official sources.

3) Use the most popular variant, including inofficial sources since community popularity defines what people would look for. Doesn't help much to be right, if nobody finds it.

4) Use both and retcon them into both beeing right. Think about Japaneese or Chineese translations. Most things can be written in very different ways and still be the same word. Actual Sullustan will most likely not be written in Aurek-Besh letters.

Another Nestt, huh? You're setting the bar high, Void!

Go with option 4. Choose the one you like the best - the other is "dialect." It's not an important issue. Let's not get bogged down on it. We don't speak Aurek-Besh anyhow. emoticon

But... but... it's been done before so there's no need to redo it... and stuff... emoticon

Considering you didn't appear to use Frank's version of the Nella in yours, I shudder to think how your version of the Nestt will turn out...

Shudder with anticipation, that is. Now get to work! emoticon

Do we have the original image from the original image to post so that those of us not able to get ahold of the sourcebook can compare the two?
