Re: CEC YT-1760: WIP

The picture I have of the 1760 actually shows a drive contrail from the centre section, let me see if I can dig it out.

No wait, it's actually the Wookiepedia picture, here's the link

50stone, nice find, however, that may be an editted picture posted to wookieepedia.

I would suggest looking at Jeff Carlisle's homepage where he displays his stuff without any clutter.

Why are you changing stats already?

Sorry forgot to include some stuff from the original post I made.

My Original Post

When I started doodling with this design and scaled it to the 6-pixels = 1 foot (blue scale), I found it to be a extremly tiny vessel.

So after so rescaling and resizing this is the size I came up with, so the stats reflect two changes.

The length and the speed, the length explained above, and the speed due the extra engine.

This is modified from the only artwork there is, discounting the "admirals" render.

To me it seems that the saucer sections is very thin and flat to start with. When I played around with both the length and the side view it kind of had to be enlarged other wise the only creatures that would be able to use this vessel would be small children, Jawa's and Squibs.

I took Luke35's scaled "admiral's" deckplan from the original post and stuck it next to mine to show the lengths

If Blizzard hadn't screwed me around tonight and I was able to transfer my characters to the new the servers they were offering (WoW junkie) I would have stuck in some SWDA scale furniture to show what I'm talking about, but it's late here in the morning again (01:30-02:00)and i have to go to work in the morning, so people will just have to do it themselves and experiment.

Look at the two lengths and then ask the question?

quote:

Length: 20 meters
Passengers: 8
Cargo Capacity: 10 metric tons
Consumables: 2 months

Worse case senerio - 8 people stuck in the a 20m vessel for 2-months

Personally I think not.

Well, the SWDA has on more than one occasion deviated from 'official' stats/information when after close scrutiny we feel that the 'official' stats/information are not accurate... but then again, if there are no 'official' D6 stats to begin with I don't think confusion would be a major issue.

So this is what I have done. The stats are a WIP aswell, the vessel is in-complete. But I posted stats so that people would be albe to look at "Qusai-Offical" stats, my "Adjustment Stats" the scale of the vessels and then provide feed back.

Thats what SWDA is all about, getting the best out of people and producing quailty.

Anyway bedtime for me, hopefully Blizzard will have sorted out there "Tech Issues" in the morning and I can transfer quickly.

I hope to do some more work on the project over the weekend as well in some of the spare time I get.

Stay safe, play nice, have fun emoticon

Cheers

I don't really think we have to discuss wether or not the thing in the middle aft is a docking tube. There is almost the same doubt about that, as it is in the question where the bow is and where the stern. None.
It is, in every aspect, a standard corellian docking tube. The very same as on the falcon.

As The VOID speaketh, so shall it be!
unless the Grand Admiral says otherwise

But seriously, The VOID is right, that's a docking arm. It matches the docking system on the Falcon and doesn't match the ship's other engines.

By the way VOID, when did you become a Commodore?

Could there be a larger single escape pod in there that is recoverable maybe, otherwise the space usage is a bit dodgy don't you think.

I know Fulongamer. He's a friend of mine. Perhaps if you would like to tell him how crap his deckplan is when he has a chance to actually defend himself I could invite him to comment on this thread. emoticon

The space usage for that docking arm isn't too bad, I think. It potentially gives a straight shot into the cargo bay without interfering with the engine structures to either side. The only real flaw I see is that it probably uses two power cores and hyperdrives rather than just one of each.
