The seats would also be a good place for survival gear storage.

This is what I had in mind for the escape pods:

Engines, fuel, and life support equipment is under the floor and above the ceiling; gravity control and emergency supplies are under the seats, and oxygen is stored in the green things on either side of the seats.

I like it, but I think that we can improve the general interior layout.

For example, when it is deployed, it can shoot straight aft (with compressed gas or repulsors), and then the engines (in the bottom) would fire and propel the pod away from the craft. All the propellant tanks could be located in the bottom and nozzles in each of the 4 corner points...or maybe 3 in a pinch, either way, when under propulsion, it's better to have the thrust under the occupants rather than pushing them 'backwards'.

This configuration would free up a ton of space above the occupants for stowage.

regards,
Lucas

You could make the propelant that gets the pod away from the ship in the ship itself. After the pod is far enough away, the engines can be turned on and "away you go".

I think that the pod itself would need a backup just in case the ship's system fails

I stilll think they are too small, unless as I saod already they are only meant to last a day or so. Stretching them back would require only minor changes to nonessential systems and make the pods much better.. go on give it a try. emoticon

I have to agree with Quint. Consider leg room, if you will. I'm not at all sure that four people can sit in those chairs.

I genuinely believe Uwe Boll could've done a better job with the prequels.

The first aid kit on the top deck is mis-colored.

Perhaps it is possible to install additional escape pods somewhere else on the ship. Launching downwards through the bottom hull, for example. That way, the two present pods could be reduced to 2-3 people capacity, which would work much better. So one additional pod somewhere else could suffice.
