No problem. I made this ship and I will gladly answer each and every reasonable question. When the capsule and detail descriptions are done, they will answer most of the questions I can currently think of, but if anything remains unanswered, this will stay the place to ask. emoticon

Well in all fairness there are 55 pages to this thread... so you're bound to overlook something... emoticon

Re: Nella Series - Regenesis/Degenesis

Here's a question - do we think the spaceframe structural members and stress distribution for this ship are symetrical at the back? That is, could the consumables compartment be interchanged with the hyperdrive room?

Not that I'm modding it or anything. Nosir. emoticon

More seriously, what goes under the floor of the ****pit? (There's a lot of space down there.)

Re: Nella Series - Regenesis/Degenesis

The consumables control room should not be interchanged with the hyperdrive, because the consumables balance part of the bridge and neck weight to make the ship more stable in unloaded landed configuration.

The room under the bridge hourses parts of the ships main computer, additional sensors, life support for the ****pit, landing skiffs and emergency survival equipment. In the armed Nella variant, the survival equipment is sacrificed for the small blaster gun, which can be removed after landing, mounded on a small tripod and used for ground defense and hunting.

Re: Nella Series - Regenesis/Degenesis

Believe me, the weight issue won't be a problem... emoticon

I was just messing about to see if I can shoe-horn a class 1 in there - and I can, just - so it's not an issue now. Some internal restructuring will still be necessary though. When I'm done, if it tallies with the capsule you're writing, I'll post it as a drop-in : save other people the hastle.

I also note in passing that the large nesst power core fits perfectly... too perfectly to be a coincidence - were you planning your mods when you drew her, maybe? emoticon

And I was wondering about that blaster - it wouldn't be much use in a space battle, I assumed it was for laying down covering fire in ground conficts... not techincaly inside this ships design brief, but I'll buy it as a "value-added" feature of the the stock escort variant. Arming escape pods is a risky business, though - it give people a reason to shoot them down.

Re: Nella Series - Regenesis/Degenesis

The gun under the ****pit is similar to an E-Web and it is not used for space combat. Its purpose is to defend the ship on the ground and it enables the escape pod to lay covering fire when landing. Since it is not of any real use in space combat, especially not when the ****pit serves as an escape pod, there is no reason to shoot the pod down just because of it. And if you land on a hostile world, you got something to keep the Rancors at distance. emoticon

Update:

I am completing the Nella 380 Explorer stock variant within the next days. Then I will readjust a few minor issues in all the variants and that is the very last step, before you can all see the whole line fully completed on our new soon-to-come gallery page. A lot of Nella is comming your way soon. emoticon

Rejoice, for Nellapalooza is nigh! emoticon

From the glimpses I've seen, this little butt-ugly craft is going to see a tremendous surge in popularity. You've done an excellent job so far Void.

I totally agree there.

this thing is so damned versatile, it's scary.
