Re: KDY Corona transport - COMPLETED
Actually, to be functional as some kind of cammo, it would have to be completely black. After all, paint shemes are normally done for the operational area of the vehicle and for a spaceship, that is space. Dropships are something else, but since any military dropship will come down like a comet, in a blazing corona of heat, that doesn't do much good anyway.
Just paint it the way it looks cool.

Re: KDY Corona transport - COMPLETED
A smuggler ship would do well with upper camoflage for when it's landed, a time when you want to hide and do business without undue attention.
Also when landed your electronics and energy signature doesn't mark you out on sensors like a flare!

Re: KDY Corona transport - COMPLETED
Yes, but first of all, most people looking for you will do so with sensors. If you have just touched down, your ship will still look like a flare on infrared and will keep to do so for quite some time. Then there is your powercore. If you shut it down, you cannot take off fast and if you keep it running, it still produces a powerfull electrical field. One way or another, up to at least half an hour after landing, the paint sheme of your ship does not prevent detection. Given that, you are better off using a cammo netting, which you can set up, while the systems are shutting down. By the way: No matter what you do, your ship is still a huge concentration of metal and will keep showing up on many important scans used to find you that are not bothered a bit by coloration.
The more we are talking about this, the more I am convinced that the color of the ship is completely irrelevant, as long as it does not glow in the dark. Actually, that is a good thing, because it means that players can paint their ship any way they want, without it having any serious consequences. Okay, that excludes painting 'Imps have really small members' all over that ship. That could have serious consequences.

Re: KDY Corona transport - COMPLETED
I tend to agree, unless the ship is coated in some sort of sensor masking or absorbant material.

Re: KDY Corona transport - COMPLETED
You seem to forget about jamming sensors.
If all you sensors are jammed you would have to look for the ship. In which case colour would make a difference. Jamming snesors would give away the fact that 'something' is there but not the exact position if you are camoflaged well.

Re: KDY Corona transport - COMPLETED
Got bored, started modding, and I now present to you the Kuati Renegade, owned by swoop racer Kinara Djarys:
Kuati Renegade Capsule
I'm looking for sponsor logos to add some detail, if anyone has some ideas I'd appreciate them.
Kudos to Kayle Skolaris for the swoop bikes, machine shop equipment, and droid stations.

Re: KDY Corona transport - COMPLETED
Maybe put the logo for the speeder company her bikes are purchased from. Maybe she's also sponsered by one of the Bacta Cartels, or a Hutt Enterprise. Maybe even Black Sun. Logos for the company that produces her racing fuel, supplies her uniform, her repair parts.
All just thoughts.

Re: KDY Corona transport - COMPLETED
nice work klick. I like the interior bits and such.
as for the exterior though, as we were discussing in the chat...it's a bit sparse...and those numbers are a bit too...um....from a galaxy not so far away.

And a "landed" view with a demonstration of how the cargo hold can be partitioned into two decks to serve multiple functions:
