TaggeCo Mobquet Medium Transport

Ok, I've been playing around at deckplaning here, it ain't up to any decent standard but the general dimensions are correct, length, width, sectional proportion and there might be a neat room or something someone else might put to use.

I was going to keep this to myself due to it's general suckyness, I can't do the equipment for toffee, but I thought I'd throw it out there anyway.

looks phenomenal, although I would have strongly recommended completing the exterior views before arranging the interiors. Still it does look outstanding so far.

any chance of you showing us the full exterior orthos?

Sure, and the exteriors were done first, though I have gone back and changed the odd thing to match up, like the doors which weren't really visible on the game picture.

The first is an the amalgamated picture from Xwing Alliance that I used for dimentions and such.

Image

The second is my Bluescale exterior, I've done some lines and surface detail on the side and top, the side of the Alliance image was the most detailed the rest was quite poor.

I'm not sure that the Mobquet has a cluster of aft thrusters like XWA shows. They'd have been blocked by the Falcon when it was smuggled to Byss on the Starlight Intruder.

It is impossible to fit the falcon on the aft face of the ship, it is much to small, I think this was just artistic licence.

I've written elsewhere the scaled size of the rear face, the Falcon would over hang the face by six or so meters, which the artwork doesn't show.

Also the Starlight Intruder depicted in the comic picture is a scratch build from parts.

Along with the large groupings of downward firing engines and the gramaphone rear engines, I've decided to omit them for my own sense of asphetics.

Features:

On deck two for the centre section and three of the aft you can see a booth, accessed by a lift, this is the control booth for the roof mounted crane system.

There is a similar booth overlooking the engine room for the engineers, this deck features a carwalk over/around the main engineroom equipment.

The blue hatch on deck one of the centre seciion opens allowing containers to be winched up via a crane. I chose this over a traditional freight lift as it's a hell of a climb.

There are four passenger berths in the centre section, for people accompanying specific cargos or the odd passenger, they have a secure(ish) locker in their berth.

Deck one on the forward module by the starboard airlock, there is a small control station with a window to aid in docking manouevers.

At the mid point of each neck there is a small airlock and docking hatch, this is to allow small shuttles or launches to dock and passengers transfer. It also gives access to the outer hull for repairs.

It has escape pods in three locations to allow people in any part of the ship to get to them quickly, also the type 700's can be used as landing boats.

The main cargo doors all have magnetic containment fields to allow cargo to be transferred in space. It can operate as a Underway Replenishment ship if needed.

Crew:
I expect this ship to have a regular operating crew of six, rather than the two the stats say. two officers and four enlisted. It has a maximum crew of nine enlisted and two officers and still retains the 4 passenger cabins.

take a look at the top view image of the mobquet, the overlay of the XWA game model - the centre cargo module has a very suspicious looking texture that looks very much like the millenium falcon, upside down. If you look at the underside image, the texture is there too under the 'thrusters' - this seems to make sense...a lot of sense indeed.

Yes I saw that too, but it too would be too small if the length of 79.3m is correct. It probably is the basis for the erroneous 113m length found some places.

I'd much rather see the falcon, using it's docking claw mounted atop the ship where it overhanging in any direction doesn't obstruct anything important.
