YT2400 Help

Hiya,

For a couple years I've been using the same deckplan for the YT2400...

http://img410.imageshack.us/my.php?image=yt24004ve.gif

Sometimes even going to WEG's Stockships deckplans if the mood suited me. But that's generally what I use and I don't know where I got it or who made it for me.

It's pretty detailed and I love it, the small problem is that for what I want to use it for now, it's entirely inaccurate. See I play Star Wars Galaxies and they recently added the YT2400 to the game. I happened to get one of them and I run a website that's kinda a journal/intel report of Mos Eisley and the people. Anyway, I want to do a more thorough write up on my YT2400 and I'd like to include deckplans, but like I said, it's not accurate.

http://img410.imageshack.us/my.php?image=screenshot00935jt.jpg

http://img410.imageshack.us/my.php?image=screenshot00941ou.jpg

I included the "overhead" map in the shots to get an idea of what and were things lead and are. Don't worry about the decorations, I just really need to a structure map.

If anyone is willing and talented enough to modify the original YT2400 deckplan I posted to match SWG that'd be great, it's really just the "rooms" and hallways that need redesigning. The engines, bridge, and escape pod are all pretty much in the right places already.

Thanks in advanced.

OK Dece, lets get a few things straight. I need to do a little ranting first, and believe me none of the following is directed towards you.

STAR WARS GALAXIES STINKS!!!

OK I feel better. I thought the SoroSuub Luxury 3000 a.k.a. “Lady Luck”, was bad. BOY was I wrong. Dece the YT-2400 is 21 meters long. The ship you own looks like its 60 meters long. The YT-2400 is smaller than the YT-1300 a.k.a. Millennium Falcon, yet your ship has double the headroom of the larger YT-1300. What gives man?

“STAR WARS Galaxies” is a mess, a total mess. Their deckplans don’t even have bathrooms, and now I see they have no sense of scale whatsoever. Your flying in a capital ship not a light freighter/courier ship. Don’t be distracted by the blue chick with the head tails dude, go play “City of heros”, or “Worlds of Warcraft”.

OK having said that, the YT-2400 deckplan is waiting for the YT-1300 deckplan to be finished first, so you may not see a completed YT-2400 deckplan till 2007. I do apologize for the wait and inconvience.

"blue chick with the head tails"

Teehee. The blue chick with the head tails is ME! *grin*

Yes I know it stinks and I fell out of my chair when I saw the Yacht and then the YT2400. But I still like the people I play with and certain parts of the game.

Forgot to include the address to my website that I mentioned earlier...

Re: YT2400 Help

The Good Admiral's observation about the decks appearing to be about 3 times higher than a stock YT-1300 led me to postulate that the game designers got the internal scale wrong. VERY wrong. This is supported by the Admiral's estimated length of the SWG ship.

Scaling the overlay in the game caps, and cutting out everything except the walls (enhanced by making them black)... it almost fits.

YT-2400 Overlay

The scaling isn't perfect, but it does give the general idea. The two real problems are that odd jog in the connector hallway and the rear cargo bay - Those are enough to suggest that the ship in SWG isn't actually a YT-2400.

If you remove the jog and the rear bay, the rest of the layout fits into the hull outlines of the YT-2400 well enough to provide an interesting alternate interpretation of the ship. I may work on it this weekend just to see what happens - unless Dece beats me to a final plan, of course.

Good luck, Dece!

As an Imperial officer I would answer the question "Would you sacrifice 200,000 soldiers to take one objective" my answer would be "Yes Sir, and Ill sacrifice another 200,000 in the name of the Emperor to fullfill his dreams".

Good grief, it's De'Ce! Hello to you from a former Shade. It's been a long time so I doubt you recall me. Unfortunately, I had to give up Galaxies before the ships came out. But welcome to the boards!

Guys, pretty sure the mile high ceiling is because of the "game camera" angles. Everything in that game is scaled high, otherwise it screws with your sight. An intentional flaw on the part of designers, one of MANY.
