Telgorn Corp. Delta-Class DX-9 Transport Shuttle

Alright. Obviously I've got a long was to go, especially in smoothing this out. Still, I figured I should get this thread open so that I can get as much input from the rest of you guys.

That and I also want to ask just how much creative licensing I have when working on this design.

So, without further ado, here is what I have so far.

nice start. I would try to follow the textures for reference of the shape. for example, the tapering of the engines is indicated in the texture.

As for allowing artistic licence, at this stage, concentrate on the shape, and we will add detail later. artistic license will be relagated to the interior and parts functionality and overall detail, but I do not want to stray from the established model.

How is the tapering of the engines indicated in the textures when the other views of it clearly show a rectangle. A rather boring rectangle at that?

look at the texture lines within the rectangle. this is suggestive.

I'm going to assume you mean the darker line present in the top view which indicate either a raised or indented surface portion on top of the rectangle. Correct?

Alright, here are the finished orthographic views of the engine (which still seems woefully underdeveloped) and another version I'm working on concurrently which has the same top and front side dimensions, but is slightly more angled and detailed. Both are being presented here for consumption.

My apologies now My Lord, I realize this is not the engine depicted in the views of the mesh from XWA, but I just decided to take the orthographic views and run with them for awhile. I promise that by tomorrow I will have the orthographic views of the engine as it is exactly depicted in the images.

Alrighty. Here as promised is the finished ortho of the engine. I'm going to go over it a second time for any details I missed, but I really believe this is it. I haven't colored it though, gotta do that next.

OK building the ship in parts is a very good idea Specter. Well done.

I do think the corners will all need a small amount of rounding once ALL the exterior views are done. The CGI mesh for the game is very boxy for the purpose of saving on rendering time for animation.

Luc would you agree a little chamfering is in order once the basic exterior is locked down?

Specter finish the exterior first, and we will move inside later.
