I agree with Herald, but I think it would be even better, to use a normal lift and put a hatch into that lift inself, insead of mounting the whole lift as a hatch. An ordinary lift platform would be the frame for a smaller hatch in it.

I'm still reworking the interior for the crew area. I haven't found happiness in the layout with crew quarters, passenger quarters, and general living quarters. Then I was going to move to the cargo bay as I may resize it.

....though I've never played Star Wars Galaxies....I did like the design of this ship....and I've been watching the progress intently....but I do have some issues...which I'd like to share...

#1...while SWG is rather useless concerning deckplan efficiency and accuracy....it's the only reference available for this ship....and I find it odd...that I've seen interior pictures, which to me, imply that on the forward part of the main deck....is some kind of crew lounge...with 2 viewports on either side....I can understand that this maybe considered some kind of modification...to what is normally a cargo area....but if that's the case....I'm just a 'tard...and I'll move on to my 2nd issue...

#2...the armament....if it's true that the cargo bay has been modified...into a crew lounge in SWG....I'd suspect that the upper and lower turrets are modifications as well....

...looking at the huge Gallofree Medium Transport (the GR-45 & GR-75)...as the only other reference of design lineage (the GR-75 boasting four turreted twin laser cannons and basic shielding, the GR-45 was probably not armed at all)...I'd suspect that the Nova Courier is probably not as well-armed in its stock configuration...if it's even armed at all...though, I'll be damned if I can see where the weaponry is located on the GR-75s...if I were to guess...they might be retractable beneath the hull...which might be an interesting design feature for the Nova Courier...as popular design features tend to carry over into future projects...

....judging from the screenshots...the Nova Courier's turrets appear to be mounted on the hull...with no turret hardpoint...which makes me think that they're unmanned...or operated from the bridge/****pit (with dedicated gunnery stations)...not-requiring the need for gunwells...I'm not against gunwells, mind you, but in my own opinion, there needs to be a delicate balance struck between what is seen externally in the photographs and screenshots (external and internal)...and what can be inferred on a deckplan...my whole point is moot, though...if there are indeed gunwells prtrayed in the game, itself....in which case...I'm a major dumb-head...

....I'd also suspect that while the hull may be on par with other freighters in this category (like the YT-1300)...perhaps the hyperdrive (probably a class 2 or 3, with a 12 or 14 as a backup)...and sublight drives might not be....but that's just me allowing my subconscious to over-analyze....and we're probably not ready for the assignment of statistics, yet....but I would enjoy trying to come up with some...

...all-in-all....I do think that this is good work....and I look forward to seeing it evolve a l'il more...

The more I look it over and the more others have commented, I believe that this ship requires a complete rebuild. Unfortunately, I am not good at rebuilds. The exterior will need to be redone first and then the interior can be started. Any takers?

I guess not. I'm going to need more reference material to restart this design and create a "stock" version. Of course any and all input is welcomed.
