VOID came up with the suggestion to add a little sleeping bunk to the gunboat, due to the fact, that it has consumables for a week. Room wouldn't be a problem, there is PLENTY of that.
Opinions?

Sounds probable, this is one of the Empire's "Long-range fighters" as opposed to the Tie, identified by Kenobi as a short-range one.

What roles are these ship's used for do you guys think?

Deepspace surgical strikes and heavy assaults. It has a hyperdrive and consumables for 1 week, but no human can sit in a ****pit for 1 week. Even 3 days are too much. Therefor I would add a small bunk and perhaps a toilet to make long missions possible. Directly behind the ****pit, like in a truck.

I'd add "long range patrol" to it's duties, but I agree with VOID.

I don't agree that this ship has a bunk and a toilet. the consumables could be for when / if it lands on a planet. putting a bunk and a toilet in a ship this size is silly in my opinion.

How much survival gear is there in the ejection system of a modern fighter? I'll tell you, it's a hell of a lot, but the pilot is generally out for only a few hours at a time. Those consumables are ration packs.

A fighter is generally not going to be that far away from it's home battlegroup, except due to extreme circumstance.

Just because it has a week's worth of consumables does not mean that it is SOP.

Lucas

I think the weeks worth of consumables is meant to allow the pilot to live in the ****pit for one week if necersary not on a planets surface.

It's still doable as a weeks worth of consumables is just what? water, food and air.

Water.
The minimum amount of water that a week's consumables must cover is 17500ml or 17.5 litres that's the bare minimum, this obviously doubles if any form of excertion is undertaken, stressfull conditions such as combat or tense situation increases body water loss.

That's probably doable in a single tank.

Food.
I've no idea how bulky starwars food is, i doubt a pilot would like the paste I've read stormtroopers subsist on in the field, but when the other option is death, eat hearty!

Air.
Figuring on a lean pilot of 150kg, pilots are supposed to be fit and using the best case formula of 80 ml O2/kg/min which only high end athletes can achieve to find an upper limit we get - 120,960 litres of oxygen. Excersion of course would eat more oxygen, so that should be factored in.

I'm done for today, so here the actual versions of all three views.

how many Ships have a "consumables" listing only for their survival-gear? It's most likely the max. operation time. It has hyperdrive, so there will be flightimes of 8-12hours+, which means that they have to go to toilet, but for that there is the catheter solution.
What if the pilot can change the angle of his seat? It would greatly improve the comfort during hyperspace with using practicaly no extra space.

Because it is a long range strike platform, and may get damaged in combat and drift out of it's plained area of operation/ flight path is the reason for the weeks worth of consumables,IMO.

And for when the dung hits the air circulators, the seat would recline so the pilot can get some shut-eye in realative comfort. And a portable container(s) (think plastic bags)to contain the waste. Comfort and sanitation are secondary to basic survival.

I know what you mean. Besides, that is what astronauts use. Then they vent them out or store them. Also, what if the consumables are split between survival and regular use?

Yes Sir, Commander Void, Sir
