I will side with manditory. Its not that much harder to draw lines on your opjects to thelp indicate what is what. Its hard sometimes when looking at a ship to try and figure out exactlly what each peice of furniture is. Now with this key we will have a better understanding.

Or we can put it this way, when an Architect or Engineer makes a blueprint, they dont use there own custom symbols to make an object, they use a redy set of industry standards that every engineer knows, so that people reading them down the line know what you were talking about.

I think if it starts getting used, it will keep getting used.

When the ships in the gallery page use this symbolism, people will start to use it for consistancy, and because thats what they see.

In any case, it wouldnt be hard to add this stuff to plans quickly before posting them in the gallery. I'd say make it standard for the gallery ships, and simply add it in when the author hasn't.

Mandatory is pretty strong but I think the concept will become the standard when used enough by people. Guide softly and people will follow.

I have to side with voluntary rather than mandatory, but if the majority of our plans show this syetem, then the wisdom of it will be made clear to the general population and it will become standard.
