Great!

What are you using to do these?

Re: A few drawings

Corel Painter and a small graphics tablet. I cheated a bit with the portraits, used photos of WW1 pilots and painted over them to get the shadows right.

I've done lots more, most revolving around my Character in the SWCombine, a sim in a SW universe, but without the main characters of the films.

Ah, yes, that's exactly what I'm expecting to get next year during a late family Christmas get together.

Glad to see some other stuff here!

nice work! I love the Black Guard patch, great job with that.
The 'kiss my butt' nose art is hilarious, and those portraits are really well done too...very good work. Show us more!

Lucas

Re: A few drawings

These do have a WW1 look to them. Very proud and serious. You can see the toll of war in their faces, which period photographs would convey.

Re: A few drawings

This is something my players cooked up as a point defence fighter. A quick and dirty sketch only, I fear, for now.

Image

They were expecting an Imperial punitive strike (I wanted them to run) against the planet they were on which had only a few old freighters and 4 Y-wings (the remnant of an old planetary defence squadron, the rest of the fighters had broken down). Instead of running they used the broken down Y-wings and various parts from a scrap yard to build about 20 of those ...things.

Craft: Koensayr/Baltram 'Volkssturm' Interceptor pod
Type: Starfighter
Scale: Speeder
Length: ~7 meters
Skill: Space Transports: Gymsnor-3 freighter
Crew: 1 (slender human or smaller)
Crew Skill: Varies widely
Passengers: -
Cargo capacity: none
Consumables: 1 hour (!)
Cost: about that of a good meal
Hyperdrive Multiplier: -
Nav Computer: No
Maneuverability: 2D (athmosphere 0D)
Space: 9
Atmosphere: 225; 650 kmh
Hull: 2D+1
Shields: none
Sensors:
     Passive: 5/0D
     Scan: 15/0D
     Search: 20/1D
     Focus: 1/2D
Weapons:
     Laser Cannon
          Fire Arc: fixed forward
          Skill: Starship Gunnery
          Fire Control: +1
          Space Range: 1-3/12/25
          Atmosphere Range: 100-300/1.2/2.5km
          Damage: 4D

Note that athmospheric travel and combat capability is extremely limited, because the craft has only a few emergency repulsors for landing.

The craft is basically one of the Y-wing's engine with lengthened fuselage, wings welded on, and most of the fuel tankage ripped out to make room for the laser's capacitors, sensors, targeting comp and '****pit'. The pilot flies lying down and had to wear a vacsuit- no life support, and the ****pit isn't wholly airtight. Two of those contraptions also had one-shot improvised concussion missile launchers mounted on the wings- unaimed, against capships.

Due to some unbelievably good rolls and excellent tactics, including a freighter turned flying bomb, they managed to beat off the Imps, and 5 of those things even made it home. (Although 2 of them crashed during landing, one of them fatally)

Volkssturm... emoticon
