Gygnus Spaceworks Logo (Take 2)

Below are the current potential candidates for the Cygnus Spaceworks logo (to be used with the StarSpeeder project).

Link To The Original Thread In The Deckplan/Equipment Forum.

EDIT -- a link to the old thread in the Deckplan/Equipment forum has been added.

EDIT #2 -- having a link to the old thread and the batch images therein kinda makes repeating them all here unnecessary. Plus, the best/most popular designs from the early batches are represented here anyway, so there's no real need to have the others here.

I'd be tempted to add something 'disneyish' to the logo as homage to the inspiration. Keep it subtle, maybe something like two circles reminiscent of mouse ears... kind of an in joke.

Don't think that hasn't crossed my mind... but to be honest, I just never could think of a way to incorporate it into the design and it not be painfully obvious. But then again, I'm the guy who likes looking for "Hidden Mickeys" in the parks... so my definition of 'painfully obvious' in this case may vary significantly from someone else's.

Alright, the new double-sized batch of finalists is posted. I officially reached the point where I'm sick of looking at it about halfway through the second part -- which of course means I pushed myself for just a few more designs. emoticon Suffice it to say however that I'm definitely not pursuing any more new potentials (but will tweak one or two if need be).

If it were my decision alone, I would say the final design would come from one of the following:

- c2
- f2
- g1
- g2
- g3
- h3

What do you guys think?

I really like the look of c3 and c4... reminds me of the kind of art used in wipout (way back in the 32bit days). Though that style doesn’t really fit Star Wars...

I'd personally say c2...

I will say that I'm glad I was able to play down the swastika look in h1-h3... and h1 is certainly closest to the version listed in the blueprints.

At this point though I really don't care too much which design gets chosen (even though I've listed my own personal favorites).

Well thanks for the kind words there fellas...

Since none of us seem to be able to pick just one, could we instead pare these down to a 'short list' and set it to a vote of the general forum membership?

That way we could weed out all but the strongest designs here and hopefully reduce/eliminate the irrelevant discussion/redesign attempts we were getting in the original thread.

Alright then, everyone give me a couple or three candidates and I'll compile the 'short list.'
