Well I finally have time to post a bit of my own work. Some of these are more finished than others. I really haven’t done any deck plans for them, but that may come in time if i need them.

Most of these are ships for a sci-fi campaign I’m trying to get off the ground. My GM agreed to design the universe if I designed the ships. I think I got the better end of the deal.

Well let me know what you folks think and I hope you all enjoy.

Ok...the First ship is one I’ve always referred to as the Rand Ecliptic...The name comes originally from a ship in the original star wars radio drama....i think. At least that's my recollection. The ship has been through some mods over the years (my original sketches date back to about 1992 or so) but this is the most recent version.

Very good conceptual model. I really hope you will elaborate on that and make a deckplan for it. The only thing that confuses me is the title... Submitted for your approval? emoticon
You don't NEED our approval! This is an open community! emoticon

I am glad you shared this and I hope you will keep working on it. It has tremendous potential. emoticon

By the way: The Rand Ecliptic was the Imperial patrol carrier that Biggs Darklighter was stationed on, before he defected to the Rebel Alliance. It's in the SW Empire comics from Dark Horse.

Next is a fighter...the CR-14. Some of you folks may have seen it as part of the Starship Challenge over at the SWRPGNetwork Holonet. I’d originally done the art for it back in 1998 or 99 when I was working theatre. Then I used it to base one of my ships from that project on. When Ravager asked for art I re-drew it in Cad. Now I’ve built it in my recent playing with Rhino…

I actually have that comic...was reading it last night. Unfortuinatly my copy of the radio drama is in a box in storage right now, but I'm fairly sure that's where the name originated...i know i was using to refer to this ships predecessor long before 2004 when Dark Horse published that story line in Empire.

Ok...so i just spent some time poking around online, and it turns out we're both right. It was the name of the ship Biggs was stationed to in the Empire comics, but it was also mentioned in the Radion Drama.

If your interested check out the program. Someone put the whole thing on the web to listen to. It's worth a listen:

oh and as far as the title goes...it's a reference to the original Twilight Zone. It was the phrase that often opened the show...and honestly i didn't feel like calling the thread "Kysmic's Playground" or some such...

Well lastly for today (Silly me actually has to get some real work done) is another ship from the Starship Challenge: The TIE Escort. It was designed to provide some protection for Imperial capitol ships against those pesky freighters the Rebels sometimes used. Lets face it…a basic TIE (or even 4 of them) isn’t that much of a match for a yt-1300. It was also capable filling the bomber roll. Honestly at the time I just thought the drawing looked kinda cool.

I also used this ship to start teaching m’self Rhino…boy was I surprised when my old top view actually worked out right in 3D. This is also the reason It’s kinda unfinished…

(the pic was kinda big so I changed it to a link)

A YT-1300 is shredded to pieces even by 2 TIE/ln fighters.

If you take a YT-1300 with added armor plates, enhanced shield systems and military grade quad cannons, then it's a whole different story, but thats not much of a YT-1300 anymore then. emoticon
