"Young Blades" tv series on PAX
First, let me say I didn't see half of the episodes.
The premise was good. And as Brit Canuck pointed out, the actress could wield a sword with good effect - high marks on her skills.
BUT... Friends, the series suffered; I suffered. during it's run I tuned in several times in hopes the series found its legs. Never saw the wrap episode - I gave up.
Far too much airtime was wasted trying to hide the heroine's gender. The costumes were perhaps era-correct for young blades-in-training - bulky! One episode a flighty begowned beauty mistakes our heroine for a man, and misreads "his" intentions - cute, too cute..
Most of the scenes were photographed in murky darkness - great for plotting skullduggery and the thwarting thereof, but poor for the viewer.
You know I admire a woman who has the courage to take a sword, My dismay is still fresh.
