YouTube - major layout changes coming July 15th
A major re-design of YouTube is in progress, with a new interactive layout for all users' channels being unveiled next Wednesday, July 15th (and already available to view on some channels).

What exactly this means to those who post their favorite links on forums like this one is unclear. I've tried out a few of the new-look channels, and although the design looks really good, I think it could pose some problems.
Getting the URL to a specific video is more difficult on the new pages, because when you select a new video to watch on someone's channel, your browser will bring up the new video without leaving the page you are currently viewing. So even posting a simple URL link for a single video on a forum may become a hassle.
Take a look at the video on the page linked above, then post your thoughts and comments.
The new YouTube design debuts on all user channel pages on July 15th.

The switchover has been delayed by at least a couple of weeks - YouTube will announce a new date shortly, though some individual users are already switching to the new channel format manually.

All accounts have now been switched, as of October 6th.
To get a URL for posting on this and other boards,
select the video from the sidebar on the right, then click on
View comments, related videos, and more.

H'mm. Golly, I've always gone to the address bar on my browser and copied from there.

The url taken off the browser address bar - of course I had to play the video in order for the url to come up.

Okay, today (Oct. 21) the changes are finally in place for my "homepage" on YouTube at the opening, with in-your-face view of my latest upload. Then all appears back to normal with "related videos, etc.
