Chips 99

Hi,

Even though I be a fan, I have yet to see Chips 99!
So in a nutshell... is it any good?
 emoticon emoticon

BTW was I the only guy in the UK who would go out on his bike straight after an episode to patrol the streets, and speak into my 'hand-radio'! emoticon

I cannot believe I let that secret of my childhood out so freely!!!!

But rest assured, the streets of Norwich were safe for a short while after the show ended! :thum:

Re: Chips 99

it was great to see the chips gang together again. but I really didn't like chips 99 to much.
it went so againset the tv show,
like it was Jon who left not Ponch
if ponch had married a lady who is saved in a car accdent the first season then why was in going to married a different lady in the 6th season.
Jon wasn't the yelling kind in the tv show.
we watched Ponch grow in the tv show. but all that was gone in the movie.
I think the writers of the movie should have watched all 6 seasons of the show before they started to write the movie,
but I guess it was a good movie, just not what I had thought it wouuld be.

I enjoyed it, and it was good to see most of the whole gang together again, but it was as if the movie picked up where the pilot left off, and that the other 120+ episodes were altogether lost or forgotten! emoticon

Thank you for all that feedback!

I will be watching it but I think that I am prepared now not to be transported back to the classic 80's with it!

Just watched 'The Game Of War'. Really enjoyed it!

The other hold up for me with CHiPs99 was Jon's wife. She just didn't fit with him. To see Ponch and Jon patrolling the streets of LA together again was great. Wish Larry and Erik could reprise their roles in the new movie and have the new Ponch and Jon be their kids and not try to go back to the old days. I don't know that there are that many wreckable 70s cars around anymore. Most have been turned into scrap metal.

Well I have just watched CHiPs 99 and I love it!

Yeah the acting was a bit wooden and the script took a good week or so to write but, it was entertaining!

I would have liked to have seen the gang back together and I thought I would when, Ponch mistook Jon's wife for Bonnie -I expected Bonnie to show. It would have been funny if Harlan was still working in the garage too!

So, I really enjoyed and took it at face value.
Good fun and everyone seems to fit their uniforms well!!!!
