Re: CRACK-UP!!!
It's one of my favorites, too. I love the part where Jon and Grossie are both in pain, and Phyllis Diller cracks 'em up with some of her jokes.

Re: CRACK-UP!!!
We really see a quite toned-down Phyllis Diller in Crack Up. She is one of America's most famous stand up female comedians.
This is what you could have seen...
and the black and white really hides the make-up.

Re: CRACK-UP!!!
Phyllis was not only funny, she was very pretty when she was made up properly. Some of her wacky get ups were just part of her act.

Re: CRACK-UP!!!
She's now either 88 or 89 and still looking very good. Her own routines were very funny and very contemporary.
For Crack Up she was doing a Vaudeville routine for the character she was playing. Pretty good actress, too.
